Kümmelweck Rolls

Kümmelweck Rolls

3/4 cup warm water
1-1/2 tsp yeast
1-1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2-2/3 cups flour
2 tbsp powdered milk
2 tbsp melted butter
1 egg
coarse salt
caraway seed

Combine water, yeast and sugar.  Mix butter and egg; add to yeast mixture. Blend salt, flour and milk; add to yeast mixture. Knead until smooth and elastic (whatever that means).  Let rise twice in the bowl.

Divided into 6 pieces and shape into buns (if you have one of those hard rolls thingys, you can use that to make the swirly pattern in the rolls; otherwise, don't bother).

Let rise until puffy.  Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with coarse salt and caraway seed.  Bake 15 minutes at 425° F.
